Breaking the trance of an Obama zombie
We all have friends that are otherwise good people who have fallen for Sen. Obama. Usually if you ask them why you get a frustrating answer like "he's a different kind of politician." Which means nothing. Sadly, some people seem to be choosing a president with the same set of standards they use for voting for American Idol. "He's nice looking." "He's got a smooth way of talking, etc." Obviously. the only way to get through to people is try to get them to focus on issues. Here are a couple articles that break down issues and Obama's distressing positions to help break the spell some have fallen under.
10 Concerns about Barack Obama by William J. Bennett & Seth Leibsohn
Barack Obama's Diplomatic Code Words is an article from American Thinker that demonstrates Obama's naivete on foreign affairs.
Here is Don Luskin's explanation of Obama's scary "solution" for the crisis in the Ponzi scheme called Social Security.
If people try to claim he is a different kind of candidate that transcends politics, explain how he lied about accepting public funding for his campaign (thereby avoiding the spending limits that go with the funding). He's a J.A.P. (no, not Jewish American Princess - Just Another Politician).
In Obamyths Floyd and Mary Beth Brown of Frontpage Magazine look at the soft glove media approach to Obama that resulted in a nominee that has not been fully vetted.
To me, the most vexing Obama fan is the person who professes to be pro-life but intends to vote for Obama anyways. If you run into one of those ask them how they reconcile their beliefs with Obama proudly declaring one of his first acts as president is to sign the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). FOCA, by the way, would invalidate all local laws that place any limits on abortion on demand. In other words even parental notification laws would be invalidated.
If that is too much reading for your busy schedule, you could just listen to this guy:
He is a little goofy and an admitted liberal, but his video's are kind of funny and might help some people formulate their arguments against the more outrageous claims of Obama fans. How to talk to a NObama cultist Pt.1, Pt. 2, Pt. 3, Pt. 4, Pt. 5.

I heard a caller on the Medved radio show who happened to be a black Republican She said she probably would vote for Obama just because he's black. to me this is just as bad as not voting for someone because of their color.

Agree. Basing ones decision on the candidate's color is bad whether it is a decision for or against voting for that candidate. Put another way if Obama gets 95+% of the black vote and McCain gets 55% of the white vote then which group is more motivated to vote based on race (or is more racist)?
BTW, she is not alone in that regard. Some relatively notable black conservatives (J.C. Watts, Armstrong, etc) have said they are leaning towards voting for Obama. My view is anyone who could vote for Obama is not a conservative or completely unaware of his positions.
